The Silly Side Animation App

Right now, I’m working on an app called “The Silly Side Animation App.”

It’s an online app specifically made for screenwriters who want to turn their screenplays into shorts or movies on a teeny-tiny micro-budget. (It can also be used by authors, too!)

It uses an AI-human hybrid animation method that I created in 2023, when I was trying to find the absolute cheapest method of animating my own short screenplay.

I finally came up with a method which combines stop-motion animation with AI photo-generation. (At the time, I didn’t know what to call it, but now I call it the “stop-bot” method. Lol.)

It’s much easier and less frustrating compared to current AI text-to-animation apps. Not to mention, it’s a lot of fun! If you ever enjoyed doing stop-motion animation as a kid, you’ll love this app.

It’s also much cheaper, too! It cost me less than $200 to produce a 24-minute long talking comic book, not including the money I paid to my human voice actors. (I used a combination of human and AI voice actors.)

This method also gives the screenwriter much more control of what their characters and backgrounds look like, compared to other AI animation tools that are out there now. That’s because it uses the AI for the art, the characters and voices, but the humans do the animation, so we have much more control.

I had so much fun using this method to produce my own animations, that I decided to create an app for other screenwriters, so they can produce their own movies, too.

You can use the Silly Side app to make:

  • short animated movies
  • feature-length animated movies
  • animated video pitches
  • animated movie trailers
  • animated comic books
  • animated YouTube videos-And so much more…your only limit is your imagination!

And here’s a bonus: every screenwriter who uses the Silly Side App to produce an animated sort or feature movie will get automatic entry and a waived submission fee into the “Revenge of the Screenwriter Film Festival!”

Note: The Silly Side app will never ask you to upload your screenplay. Your screenplay is yours and yours alone, and you should protect it. So instead of uploading it, you will just need to print out a copy of your screenplay, and keep it with you whenever you work on the app
